Every SEO tool I look at right now is adding “AI SEO” to its feature list. Scale by Sonic, most content research tools, even generic marketing platforms are racing to put “GEO” or “AIO” on their dashboards, so when Knwn launched on a lifetime deal my first instinct was: another one. I bought it anyway and ran its full feature set on a real site, zplatform.ai. It turned out to be useful in one specific area, surface-level in a couple of others, and early-stage overall.

Knwn focuses on AI search visibility; for the wider category, see the AI SEO software we tested across keyword research, content, and technical SEO.

What Knwn measures

Knwn is an AI SEO visibility platform. It monitors how AI models perceive and cite your brand, tracks whether your content shows up in AI-generated answers for the queries that matter to your business, and shows how much traffic arrives from AI platforms. It sits in the same space as other GEO monitoring platforms.

It does not replace your SEO stack. Traditional SEO tools track Google rankings, backlinks and organic traffic; Knwn tracks AI citation rates, AI-referred traffic and how AI models describe your brand. The two categories are complementary, and the tools that measure the AI side are still immature across the board.

The setup wizard decides how good your data is

Before you see any data, a wizard asks for your website URL, brand name, product or service description and target audience.

Every data point Knwn generates, from the visibility score to the prompts it runs on your behalf, is built on these inputs. Where the tool gave me generic or off-target results, it was usually because a prompt did not capture my niche (AI lifetime deals and discounts, not “AI tools” generically). Describe your business as “a platform for AI tools” and you get broad, unfocused data; say “a platform for business owners looking for lifetime deals on AI software” and the queries get much closer to what matters. Take ten minutes to write a proper description. It is the highest-leverage step in the setup.

Two dashboard scores: visibility and audience fit

Knwn dashboard showing AI visibility score and audience score overview

The AI visibility score rates how visible your website is to AI models on a 0-100 scale. For zplatform.ai, a relatively new domain, it came back as poor visibility, which was accurate rather than a bug.

The audience score takes the target audience you defined, runs queries against AI engines, and checks whether your site’s content aligns with what AI says that audience looks for: an AI-generated fit score between your site and your stated customer. Misalignment here often points to content gaps on your site.

Both are snapshots of where you stand today, not trend lines. The value sits in the feature sections beneath them.

Prompt tracking is the reason to buy

Prompt tracking works like rank tracking, except it monitors AI citations instead of Google positions. You add target queries (keywords, in standard SEO terms), choose which AI models to track them against, and Knwn runs those prompts daily and reports whether your brand was mentioned, which competitors were cited and what the AI response said.

I set up tracking for “best AI lifetime deal platforms.” Knwn ran it across ChatGPT and Gemini, then showed the full AI response, which brands were cited (AppSumo appeared prominently, as expected) and which position I would need to aim for. zplatform.ai did not appear in that answer yet, which was accurate and useful to know. You can add your own prompts, use the queries Knwn suggests, or bulk import a list.

You could ask AI models the same questions by hand every day. Knwn automates it, logs the results and makes changes visible over time. Tracking 10-20 queries across 3-4 AI models manually would take about 45 minutes a day; here it is a glance at a dashboard. If you want a systematic way to see whether your content work is improving your AI citation rate, this feature alone justifies the tool.

AI referrer traffic without building GA4 reports

The analytics section gives you a tracking script to install on your site.

When a user clicks a link that ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or another AI tool serves them, the click often carries a UTM parameter and a referrer from the AI platform’s domain (like chatgpt.com or gemini.google.com). Knwn collects those signals in one dashboard, showing which AI models send you traffic and at what volume. GA4 already has this under traffic acquisition if you know where to look; Knwn saves you building the custom reports or segments.

Citation analysis stops at a percentage

This section shows what percentage of AI answers mention your brand. zplatform.ai showed around 28-39 percent depending on which query set Knwn was running, along with some of the brands appearing alongside mine, which is useful context.

The report stops too soon. I could not easily see which queries triggered the mentions, what position my brand appeared in relative to competitors, what the AI answer looked like, or what a competitor was doing differently where I was not mentioned. That context would turn a number into an action; right now it is a number. It also misidentified mentions: some results it flagged were about other brands in my category rather than ZPlatform, a calibration issue the team needs to fix.

Visibility gap advice missed my niche

Knwn AI visibility gap analysis showing brand recall category and improvement suggestions

The visibility gap section turns topics where AI does not associate your brand into content recommendations, grouped as brand recall, listicle mentions, audience fit, use case coverage and competitor comparisons. For each it shows the query AI is running and what the current answer looks like. The concept is solid; the execution is hit and miss. For zplatform.ai it recommended “top AI tools for small businesses,” a reasonable topic in general but not my focus on AI lifetime deals, which suggests my wizard descriptions needed more specificity.

Knwn does show the exact prompt behind each recommendation instead of just saying “write more listicles,” so you can judge whether the query is relevant to your business. That puts it ahead of tools that throw opaque suggestions at you. The advice (comparison articles, competitor-adjacent queries, content around specific audience use cases) is directionally correct GEO practice even when it misses the niche.

Pages: visibility for individual URLs

Knwn pages section showing individual page visibility and audience fit scores

You add a relative path, a page title and a short description, and Knwn tracks that page’s visibility and audience fit in AI answers. I did not test this section in depth. For a site with a few high-value pages, such as a product landing page or a pillar article, it would show whether that content is being pulled into AI responses.

Knwn trends panel showing AI search query trends with demand and saturation data

Trends surfaces queries growing in AI search demand within your niche. For zplatform.ai most showed near-zero growth and low AI demand scores, and some were irrelevant (promo codes for tools I do not cover). Micro-niches with limited AI search volume are hard for Knwn to find meaningful trend data for right now. A larger query pool and drill-down into individual trend signals would make it a content planning tool; today it is a work in progress.

What Knwn does not do yet

Beyond the thin citation report and the niche misses above, two things limit it:

  • No competitor tracking. It was on the roadmap, not live, when I tested. You can see how you perform but cannot benchmark against the brands winning citations in your space. This is the single most useful feature missing from the current build.
  • It sells convenience, not exclusive data. Most of what Knwn does you can do yourself with a few hours of setup: AI traffic is in GA4, and citation checks mean querying ChatGPT and Gemini directly. That applies to most first-generation GEO tools. If you already track AI referrers in GA4 and run manual citation checks, the added value will feel thin.

Who should buy Knwn?

Knwn makes sense for business owners and marketers who:

  • Want a dedicated dashboard for AI visibility monitoring rather than piecing it together across GA4, manual prompt testing, and spreadsheets.
  • Are running GEO campaigns and need to track whether content investments are improving AI citations over time.
  • Have a clear brand and product description to give the tool during setup. If your positioning is vague, the data will be too.
  • Are interested in the lifetime deal specifically. At monthly subscription pricing, the current feature set would be harder to justify. At a one-time payment, the risk-reward calculation changes.

It is probably not the right fit if you expect deep competitor intelligence now, or if your site sits in a micro-niche where AI search volume is low and the trends and visibility data will not surface much signal.

Knwn pricing and how to buy

Knwn launched with a lifetime deal offer during the period I tested it. The exact pricing tiers change on deal platforms, so check the current deal status at the link below. The plan I tested included approximately 50 tracked prompts per day, one website, and access to all current features.

If you want to explore the current offer, check out Knwn via this link. Some links on zplatform.ai are affiliate links. If you buy through this link, I earn a small commission, which helps me keep creating reviews like this. Non-referral access is also available directly from the Knwn website. A starting point, not a GEO stack

At the lifetime deal price, Knwn is worth it with conditions. Automated daily citation monitoring across multiple AI models solves a real pain point, and the wizard forces you to think clearly about your positioning. But lifetime access to an early-stage product is a bet on its roadmap: citation analysis has to get deeper and competitor tracking has to ship before this becomes a complete tool.

Knwn is a good starting point for AI SEO monitoring, not a complete GEO stack. Buy it if you want automated prompt tracking and a unified AI visibility dashboard and are comfortable with an early-stage tool. Skip it if you need deep competitive intelligence or mature reporting today. I will update this review as the product develops.
